Frequently Asked Questions

What is Ella in simple terms?

Ella is a strategic AI marketing platform powered by Ellavator.ai and built to help agencies, marketing teams and business owners turn clear strategy into campaigns, emails, pages and content in hours, not weeks. She learns your brand, customers and offers, stores them in private Brand Bots, and uses playbooks to keep your marketing on‑brand and on‑strategy across channels.

Ella is a strategy‑driven AI marketing platform, not just a generic AI tool powered by Ellavator.ai. She trains on your brands’ positioning, ICPs, offers and journeys, then turns your frameworks into Brand Bots and reusable playbooks so your team can turn strategy into campaigns and assets quickly, without losing brand voice or control.

Marketingbots.ai is a certified partner of Ellavator.ai. Ellevator.ai builds and maintains the platform. Marketingbots.ai helps agencies, marketing teams and business owners:

  • Capture their strategy and ICPs
  • Train their Brand Bots
  • Design playbooks based on how they really work
  • Use Ella on real campaigns, launches and content systems

We provide comprehensive onboarding and support, so Ella becomes part of everyday marketing, not just another tool.

Generic AI tools are built to answer almost any question for almost anyone. They respond to prompts, but they don’t remember your broader strategy or hold your brand and ICPs in a structured way.

Ella is different because she:

  • Builds Brand Bots from your positioning, ICPs, offers and voice
  • Uses playbooks to map your way of working (launches, nurture, campaigns)
  • Runs an execution engine that turns strategy into ready‑to‑review assets

Instead of ‘write me an email’, Ella works more like ‘here’s the campaign, ICP and stage – create the right email cadence for each moment, in our voice’.

Who is Ella designed for?

Ella is built for three main groups:

  • Agencies & fractional CMOs – who run strategy and execution for multiple clients and want a safe, system-level way to use AI across accounts.
  • Marketing teams – who own brand and pipeline and need a living marketing operating system, not more tools.
  • Business owners – whose founders are still driving marketing decisions and want a simple, visible system instead of random acts.

Yes. Many owners and solo marketers use Ella Pro as their primary marketing brain. They set up one Brand Bot, use simple playbooks (for example, welcome + nurture, promos, 90‑day content plans) and let Ella handle first drafts and structure so they can focus on running the business.

Ella works particularly well for lean teams, but it scales up. With Ella Team, you can:

  • Create multiple Brand Bots (by brand, product or region)
  • Give 5+ users access with role‑based permissions
  • Use playbooks to standardise how different teams and regions approach campaigns

This gives you a single marketing “brain” that scales across people and channels.

With Ella Agency, agencies and fCMOs get:

  • An agency Brand Bot for their own IP and positioning
  • Separate client Brand Bots for each account
  • Playbooks that encode their discovery, GTM and campaign frameworks
  • An execution engine to draft strategies, plans and assets across clients in hours instead of weeks

It’s built to amplify agencies and fCMOs as power users, not compete with them.

How does Ella actually work on a day‑to‑day basis?

Ella works by:

  • Building Brand Bots – private ‘brains’ for your brand or clients that hold positioning, ICPs, offers, proof and tone.
  • Using playbooks – step‑by‑step flows that match how you like to work (launch, nurture, campaigns, sales support).
  • Running an execution engine – that turns Brand Bots + playbooks into ready‑to‑review emails, pages, posts, scripts and campaign structures.

Your team talks to Ella in plain English (‘we’re launching X to Y audience’), picks or uses a playbook, and Ella generates structured plans and assets from your own marketing brain.

A Brand Bot is a private AI ‘brain’ for a brand or client.

It stores:

  • Your positioning and differentiation
  • Ideal customer profiles (ICPs) and customer pains/gains
  • Offers, products and services
  • Proof points, case studies, phrases and tone of voice

Everything Ella generates – emails, pages, posts, scripts – is grounded in that Brand Bot, which is why outputs feel like you rather than generic AI.

Playbooks are reusable flows that describe how you like to tackle common jobs, such as:

  • Launching a new product or service
  • Running a 90‑day content plan
  • Building a nurture sequence
  • Supporting sales with follow‑ups and enablement content

Each playbook has steps, prompts and asset types that Ella uses to guide you from strategy → outline → drafted assets, all tied back to your Brand Bot.

No. Ella is designed to sit on top of your existing stack:

  • You plan, brief and draft in Ella
  • You publish through your current tools (email platform, CRM, CMS, ad platforms, etc.)

Ella becomes the thinking and structure layer – the ‘brain’ – while your existing tools stay the “hands”.

If you use Ella on a real project, most teams see value easily within the first 14 days.

Our standard approach is:

  • Build your first Brand Bot
  • Choose one real use case (launch, campaign, nurture, content system)
  • Use Ella to produce a working plan and assets for that project

By the end of that period, you should have at least one ‘before vs after Ella’ example you can feel.

What plans does Ella offer and what do they cost?

Ella has three main subscription plans (all in US$):

  • Ella Pro – US$499 / month
    • 1 user, 1 Brand Bot, unlimited campaigns & assets, strategy and onboarding templates, comprehensive onboarding and support.
  • Ella Team – US$1,999 / month
    • 5+ users, multiple Brand Bots, unlimited campaigns & assets, collaboration workspace, team onboarding, training and support.
  • Ella Agency – from US$2,999 / month
    • 8+ users, one Agency Brand Bot + multiple Client Brand Bots, unlimited campaigns & assets, custom onboarding, process setup, priority support and office hours.

Yes. You can start a 14‑day guided trial

During that time, we:

  • Build your first Brand Bot
  • Choose a real, high‑value project
  • Use Ella with you to produce something concrete (for example, a launch plan, nurture flow or content system)

At the end of the trial, you decide if Ella has earned a place on your team.

Yes. Many customers:

  • Start on Pro, then move to Team when they add marketers
  • Move from Team to Agency as they take on more brands and clients

We’ll help you choose the right plan and adjust as things grow.

Does Ella use my data to train public AI models?

No. Data and content in your workspace – including Brand Bots – are not used to train public AI models. Your data is private to your account and only used to power your instance of Ella and, in anonymised form, to improve the product experience (for example, usage analytics), not to train general‑purpose models.

Each client has their own Brand Bot.

Content, strategy and assets from one client’s Brand Bot:

  • Are not visible to other clients
  • Are not visible to other customers
  • Can only be accessed by your team members with the right permissions

You can control who in your agency sees which Brand Bots using role‑based access.

In broad terms:

  • Data in transit is protected with modern encryption (such as HTTPS/TLS)
  • Data at rest is stored in secure environments with strong access controls
  • Only authorised systems and team members can access production environments, and then only as needed for support, maintenance or troubleshooting

We do not sell your data or share your workspace contents with other customers.

Yes. Ella supports role‑based access:

  • Owners/admins manage users, billing and Brand Bot settings
  • Strategists/seniors can update strategy and playbooks
  • Contributors can generate and edit assets but cannot change core strategy

This helps protect sensitive strategy and client data while allowing broader use of Ella for content creation.

What kind of onboarding do I get?

Every plan includes comprehensive onboarding from marketingbots.ai.

That usually involves:

  • An onboarding Zoom call to understand your business, ICPs and bottlenecks
  • A completely built for you Brand Bot
  • Guided training sessions for your first use case
  • Help choosing and running playbooks and plays
  • Ongoing support in the form of weekly or monthly calls

You’re not left to ‘figure out AI’ on your own.

Ongoing support through marketingbots.ai means:

  • You can ask as many questions as you like about how to use Ella
  • We’ll help you troubleshoot prompts, Brand Bots, playbooks and real campaigns
  • For Team and Agency plans, you can access ongoing training sessions and (for Agency) office hours

Support is included in the monthly fee; you don’t pay extra just to get help.

You can:

  • Call or email us and we will respond within 12-24 hours depending upon your time zone
  • Use the in‑app or email support options provided with your plan
  • Visit the Support & Help page to find guides and contact details
  • Contact us via the contact page if you’re not yet a customer but have questions about fit, security or rollout

As we are working across multiple time zones, we aim to respond within 12-24 hours.

How do I know if Ella is the right fit for us?

Ella is usually a good fit if:

  • You already have some sense of who you serve and what you offer
  • Strategy exists in some form (even if it’s in decks and heads), but isn’t consistently applied
  • Capacity and bandwidth are limited and want to do more with the team you already have
  • Checking, editing and rewriting things is falling on your shoulders constantly
  • Generic AI tools have been helpful but not good for staying on-strategy and differentiating yourself
  • You have a resource who isn’t a marketing expert and needs guidance to stay on brand

If you’re starting completely from scratch with no idea who you serve or what you sell, we can still help, but we’ll spend more early time on positioning and ICP work.

Ella is designed to sit on top of your existing tools and workflows, not to replace everything at once.

We usually:

  • Start with one brand/client and one real project
  • Prove value on that project (before/after Ella)
  • Then extend Ella into more use cases, brands or channels over time

This phased approach keeps disruption low and adoption high.

In our experience, when Ella is positioned correctly:

  • Teams see her as a way to do more high‑value work (strategy, insight, creative) and ‘doing’ work as everyone has a production assistant
  • Agencies and fCMOs see her as internal leverage that lets them scale their best thinking, not something that replaces strategists
  • Owners see her as ‘finally having a marketing brain’ and assistant they can lean on

We’re careful in onboarding to frame Ella as intern → assistant → trusted partner, not as a replacement.

That’s what the 14‑day guided start is for.

If you use Ella on real work and she doesn’t:

  • Make your marketing clearer
  • Save you meaningful time
  • Improve consistency or quality

…then she hasn’t earned her keep. Plans are month‑to‑month, so you can stop without being locked in.
